This is the bowling animation that I made after deleting my previous file and downloading blender again. This time I find that blender doesn’t crash anymore when I try to render animation directly or from individual frames.

It finally worked!
And yes, sometimes Blender gets confused (will be less when you have more experience).
A trick you could have used, is to start with a new file, and APPEND (partly import) the objects, materials etc. from the old, to be expected corrupted, file.
