I’m actually taking another Blender course at the same time (I’m finding that it helps to reinforce the basic skills I’m learning and lets me try out new skills on a variety of projects). I started learning a little bit about materials, lighting, and UV wrapping in the other course, so I decided to go back and apply those lessons to the second image in my bowling alley scene. Pretty cool–it really makes me want to continue with both courses.
