Bouncing Blob in glorious low-res!

Picked up the pixel art course at long last!

Here’s a little slime from the intro lesson. Making sure software is installed and files can be shared as I work through the remaining lessons.

Edit: That’s a small blob! Squint and you probably still miss it? I know for next time I guess!

I’ve seen a lot of miniature renders posted, and often wondered if it has anything to do with the 2D graphics software being used.

I think because of the challenge itself. Using a canvas of 8x8 pixels.

Hey, thanks for taking a look.

For anybody that also ends up sharing super-tiny sprites by mistake, here’s a tip:

I managed to size it up a little, if using LibreSprite you can…:

  1. Go to the menu at the top of the application and select the sprite menu.

  2. From the sprite menu you can adjust the sprite size or canvas size.

  3. Select sprite size, you are able to upscale your image by a set percentage.

This makes it much easier to share!

One last tip, these boards dont like uploading .ase files directly. So, when exporting from LibreSprite, be sure to save as a .gif and use the option ‘animation loop’.

Here’s another little sprite, thanks for popping in.

Use “Save Copy As…”, that way you don’t have to mess with the canvas size in your master file.

You can select both the type of file you want to export as and the scaling at the bottom.
