Bouncing ball with control bones

This is my bouncing ball animation.
The armature has three bones: a central root bone that controls the ball’s position, and two bones at the top and bottom that control the ball’s squashing and stretching

The stretching on the initial drop seems a bit too much to me, but the squashing on the bounce looks great!

Nice, I think the stretching can work well to symbolise how hard someone hit the ball, like a special ability of sorts. Good work.

This behavior of positioning, squashing and stretching can al be done with one bone!.
For a single bone you can set a bone constrain, called “Maintain volume”.

That’s true, but the challenge required the use of extra bones to control the top and bottom of the ball
