Okay so I am using Blender 4.0 For the tree sculpting video I am following. Shift-r and ctrl-r no longer work. I did look it up and blender changed it to r only but it does not apply the remesh only shows the grid. So I just used the remesh button instead of the shortcut since i cannot get the shortcut to work. My problem is that when I do remesh like Grant’s cube the cube still stays sharp edged so pulling the tree out with grab does not work well. How would I get that cube looking more like the video with the softened edges? The remesh is acting not right for me.

So the ctrl+r to remesh is still the same. The shift+r is now r. As for your question, have you tried using the snake hook brush instead of the grab? I find it works better sometimes. I will confess that I’m not good at sculpting.

didn’t do the course. But does adding a subdivision modifier do the job? softening the edges?
