Blender Environment Artist course final render

With some free time on my hands, I completed an Environment course. For the final render, I challenged myself further by creating an original village scene in Unreal, bringing together everything I learned. It’s a small world, but I built it from scratch. I hope you enjoy the view.

To understood it correctly, build (parts) in Blender and then created the village Unreal.

Doesn’t matter, It looks great. I see smoke out of the chimney …
I like the cobblestone view also.

Well done!!

Yeah, all the modular parts were made in Blender and then imported into Unreal. The landscape was created entirely in UE.

in this pic I just finished forming mountains and blocking out vilage

With a good looking castle in the background too!
Great mini world.

Digging deeper into the rabbit hole. :grinning: First blockout test 200 modular pieces house.

Great semo.
I got the impression that the window frames are mounted on the outside of the walls.
making the glass ‘plane’ the wall, where expected to be pushed inside.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. The windows in the references I gathered look pretty similar to this, but I agree, something feels a bit off. I’ll probably try a different approach.

I would say, it is a candidate for geo-nodes!

I’ve no experience with this.
But I imagine, having a wall plane (four vertices).
Where geo-nodes, will introduce the window inset, depending of the window frame object, dimension …

But it also depends on how you will use these house objects.
From far away, this simplification wouldn’t be a problem.
But close up it would be noticeable.

I don’t know much about geonodes, but I like the idea of using them. But for now, I’m just focusing on one thing at a time. Spent the last couple of years jumping between too many things, and that didn’t get me anywhere, except maybe getting better at solving problems.
Lately, I’ve been trying out modular environments/ interior design, and that feels like home.
