So if you’re like me and want to use Blender on a Linux machine, you might want to install with a PPA. I used
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thomas-schiex/blender
although I already saw another Repo listed by someone. More importantly, if you’re also using an AMD GPU you might see the Blender window flickering and distorted with graphical glitches. I found that it’s an issue with Blender’s Window Draw Method. Automatic seems to be responsible for the issue. Go to File > User Preferences (Ctrl + Alt + U), go to the System tab, and under window draw method select a method most suited for your system. I’m using Triple Buffering.
