Here is my Bishop with her notch. I went a bit further and modeled my piece to be a bit more rounded before I added the Boolean modifier. I did have to go in and clean up the geometry a bit since I had some ngons created after the modifier was applied. I think it came in at verts 168, faces 168 and tris 330 so a bit higher in poly count than what was shown.
