Bishop in High Poly with light issues

Hi hi!

I’m doing the bishop in both high and low poly models. I wanted to do this just to practice in both ways, and I’m having some trouble with the high poly model, as the boolean difference isn’t making a cool looking model becase lightning doesn’t look cool.

And the thing is that I really don’t know how to do the notch looking good. Any ideas?

BTW, forgot to add the low poly bishop screenshoot

A subdivision surface modifier should smooth it out nice. It adds a lot of extra geometry though so don’t apply it until you’re sure the model is finished.

HI NikeKnox. I’ll try tomorrow what you suggest.

But I think that will be not what I need to fix this issue.

I have been checking that on the low poly model with the smooth something similar happens. I don’t like how the lightning makes the shadows at the notch. I think that there must be a way to fix this without changing the models itself as for me, looks like it’s a wrong process on the smoothing.

Hello!

I finally found a way to fix this issue. (at least for the high poly models)

If it happens to you, just select all the new planes created with the boolean, separate them and later do a join of the to figures. The smoothing will get fixed!!

Cheers!
