"Big Man" lesson - The bit at 8:34-8:36 is a bit too fast for me to get

“Alt left click, I dont’t want …”?
What exactly is changed from just getting the loop-cut there?
I guess it’s releated to the following extrude step?

(Also, due to how my system works, Alt-click something usually means Alt-Shift and click for me, for example to set up a loop-cut. Alt-click alone would be an operation on my window manager)

Listening 2-3 more times at x0.75 speed, it seems it’s “alt left click to select the edge”.

I’m still not quite getting what that’s about and doing differently. I selected that edge for doing the loop select of the faces in the first place and the face that’s approximately the belt buckle is framed in white anyway. So maybe it’s actually not necessary to do some extra click at all?

Alt Left click selects a loop. Grant is in Face mode, he says to Alt left click a down direction edge, as that sends the face loop selection round the belt. If you clicked a horizontal edge it would try to select a face loop going the other way. (Because he is in FACE select mode)

No loop ‘cut’ was made.
Just basic face loop selection.

So just the typical “Alt-Shift click” on an edge I did anyway…
It was somewhat irritating since he made the loop selection beforehand and then explained it as if there was something more done. At least that’s how I understood it at the moment.

Seems I didn’t miss anything, after all.
