Bevel Vertex Issues-Section 3, Lesson 51

Whenever I am in edit mode on the ico sphere, with a single vertex selected and I try to use the bevel vertices option nothing happens. I still get the slider but adjusting it does not create a new face and neither does any of the options in the operator panel. Is this just a bug in Blender 3.0 or am I doing something wrong?

It’s not a bug in Blender 3.0, you just need to select a face or edge as minimum to bevel this.

You are selecting a Vertex to bevel in Edit Mode, I trust?

In that case you might would like to give a try to Shift + Ctrl + B command.

Do let me know, if it works.

Really helps in a visual subject to provide full screenshots.

Are you bevelling a vertex or an edge? The keypresses are different. Slightly.

General Q&A note
Please give full screenshots with any questions. With the relevant panels open.
Also include the lecture time that is relevant to the problem/issue.
This can be done by Blender itself, via the ‘Window’ menu bar top left hand side.
On that menu drop down is ‘save screenshot’.
Close ups additionally where they help.

Blender 3 works.

Yes lol I had to use and crop a print screen to get an image mid tool use.

Thank you I was able to get it to work. For whatever reason when using crtl B it brought up the same option but no matter how I moved it, it would not create a new face. Going to the vertex menu and actually choosing bevel vertex and just moving it a little bit worked.
