the best way to add resolution to this to start sculpting details on the bottle?
From here it is tricky. You could add a subdivision modifier but it will not work well with all those very close loops. It works best with more even topology.
You could do it more by hand dissolving a lot of those dense loops, then add in more along the empty straight bits until it all looks more even squares. Then add the subdivision.
