I prefer MonoDevelop to VS. Is that going to be a problem?
Hi @Brettabrown,
It shouldn’t be, primarily you are only using the IDE as a glorified text editor. That said, Visual Studio does provide a lot more functionality that MonoDevelop, even little things like highlighting which opening/closing bracket/brace matches with the other (or doesn’t!).
My personal recommendation would be to use Visual Studio, but MonoDevelop should be ok also. Worst case, you could use MonoDevelop and then switch to Visual Studio later if you choose to, just bear in mind that what you see on the screen in the lectures may not resemble exactly what you see in MonoDevelop.
I hope this is of use.
