Base Face not round

Hi, I’m having trouble setting the origin to the base. I select the face at the bottom and set the 3D cursor to the face, then set origin to 3D cursor. The problem is I’m using the subdivision modifier and the base is not flat and the edges don’t make a circle, so when I look at it from the side, it’s not really on position 0 on the Z axis. It does work if I turn off the modifier. How can I get a flat base with a subdivision modifier on?

It’s normal Blender behavior.

If you need a flat base, and mean crease set to one isn’t enough.
Then add extra edge loops to the lowest edge loop.

Select this bottom loop, and bevel the loop Ctrl b.
