NullReferenceException means that a reference (“link”) to an instance is missing. If you exposed a field in the Inspector, make sure that it’s not empty.

Double click on the error message. Are there any variables in that line? If so, check where in your script an object gets assigned to the variables. If there is a variable that has [SerializeField] in front of its declaration, it is very likely that you were supposed to assign the object in the Inspector.
