Baking Texture Problems

Whenever i try to bake the texture from HP to LP it just doesn’t work. I get this result:

Where did I go wrong?

Always use the Bl3nder MAIN MENU > WINDOWS > SAVE SCREEN SHOT function.
So that we can see for example the Blender version.

  • Not sure what you are trying to show us, but basically you need a bitmap, an image node selected to bake to results to.
But this image node may NOT BE connected to the BDSF node.

  • Which part of the course are you doing …?

thanks for the quick reply!
i am following step by step of the Texture Baking Part. I had the image node (dragon norms ) selected, but somehow it doesn’t work out.

How about ‘none color data’?

  • Are you mesh normals pointing to the right side.
  • Are you using a baking cage ?

i am still very new to Blender - i just followed Grant’s tutorial step by step. So i assumed, the mesh normal direction would be all right. EDIT: I just checked. It’s all blue, so i guess it faces the right way.

If you did everything step by step, then no problem occurred.
You’ve probably missed a step.

Selected to Active, not ticked. Check through the lecture and listen out for that being mentioned.

thanks for the hint! I’ll try that

It worked! Selected to Active was checked, but I had to change the device to CPU. I had GPU Comute selected, which didn’t work.
