Background image not working

I’ve just watched video 46 (actually, I’m at the Challenge) in Section 3. As you can see from the screenshot I’m in Ortho. Now, when I attempt to drag the reference photo into Blender, it shows a “not available” symbol kind of like this: Ø

What might be causing this? I’ve tried the provided .png and a .jpg (which has dimensions for the bowling pin at most every point) but neither works. I’ve tried using Ctrl+N to reset the scene and reopening Blender but neither of these fixes the issue.

It’s begun working. I’m not sure why. Dragging the image into Blender still doesn’t work but I was able to set the image in the Properties panel.

Anyone have ideas why A. the drag-and-drop method didn’t work or B. the provided image did not appear (via manual input in the Properties panel) earlier? I can’t always just wait a day hoping it’ll sort itself out in the future.

I always add images through the properties panel. Since everything has to be fine tuned in the panel, it never seemed much of a shortcut to drag-n-drop.
However, I tried to make mistakes with drag-n-drop but failed to get the message you got. It is, and has been, very consistent for me.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.
