Is there a way to have access to the marked assets (materials) in other Blender projects? I did try it but just had an empty asset browser when opening a new project.
It does seem a bit clunky. I wish there was a better suggestion or way of doing it all. It seems you have to save a bend file with the items you want in the asset browser, in the right place as explained in the lectures. It might make more sense really to have one Blend file for that, and when adding a material, or objects etc. to copy it to that single asset browser file, container file.
I suppose that is longer process and more to do, but for a long term storage/library, probably worth it.
Really they need to set it up so anything you choose to mark as an asset in any file is copied to the ‘library file’ and you never need think about it all.
That sounds like you did not save the working file making the materials in the asset browser preferences, part of the course.
