I am sorry if this question is answered somewhere else but I couldn’t find it. Is the Anime Character that we can create with Grant able to be animated with both face and body animations for games without problems?
I suspect that would depend on the game software. The level of detail the face has to enable close up facial rigs and animation. The course just used a very basic one for basic movements, animation can get a complicated as you like to make it!
So I am using unity for making the game. Would I be able to have facial animations still that looks OK and not have too many problems because of the topology?
It all depends on the facial topology!
More verts to control, better facial expressions. But also more facial bones and rig construct.
It also depends on what you want to do with the object. Closeups and how close?
Games objects are based on level of detail and consist of many versions of the same object. If the object is far away, fewer mesh verts are needed also a lower count of facial expression bones.
Break your project down into smaller steps. Look at what’s essential for your game character. Do you need that much control of the face? Making a realistic face is hard to do, animating it even harder.
