Animation active state (blue bar) missing

Any idea why my Animator window states do not show the blue fill bar when the state is active during play mode? The animations work correctly, and I’ve tried toggling the “Auto Live Leak” button.

I’m using Visual Studio 2022.1.13f1

Maybe the wrong game object is selected in the Hierarchy?
