After a few hurdles, I think I’ve grasped the use of multiple materials for a single object. Here’s my finished render along with the source image.

For sure, the model could be reflect the source image more accurately. I didn’t spend too much time going for accuracy because the instructor specifically said accuracy wasn’t a concern (also because I don’t know how to yet 
)
