Do you know any alternatives beside of selecting like 30 edges by hand to cut the pyramid?

You don’t say what version of Blender you’re using. I have both the older 2.79, and the newer 2.93.6 (haven’t gotten into any of the 3.x versions yet), and the key combination is different in both versions. In Blender 2.93 it’s set up as Alt + LMB by default and doesn’t work, but in my older Blender 2.79 the key combination of Alt + RMB does work in Blender 2.93, so try that and see what happens.

Oh Sorry - yes you are right, i didn’t mention.
I started with the blender course 3 days ago so i downloaded the latest 3.1.2

When using “Emulate 3 Button Mouse”, simply double left clicking an edge will result in an edge loop selection.
