The person you replied to posted that in Aug 2019. Has only made two posts ever. I somehow doubt he/she will notice or respond!
Good to hear from you NP5
I just wanted to ensure my next anniversary badge!
Seriously, I’ll be able to continue the Blender training and my project at the end of this year. Not full-time, but quite close.
Heya,
First off, welcome to the course and congrats on this fine tower!
Depending on how you would want to liven it up there is several things you could do. I particularly like the other suggestion mentioned however, if you are just starting off and want to implement something in your current skill set you could:
Add extra geometry: Such as a sun (circle with a yellow material and some light… Or just make it a light) clouds could be a good option and would test your skill in building low poly objects.
Change the materials: From my point of view it seems like the blue is very desaturated, there are things you could do to make the sky feel more alive in the materials section even if you wanted to leave the actual color alone… I personally think the magic word is comparison. The building blocks and lighting of your tower are the main focus but, in comparison to that the flat colors of the plain and sky look somewhat bland.
Change the angles: When rendering out an image trying to find the correct proportions of what to have where can be tricky. If you wanted more focus on the sky and less on the tower you could have the tower half out of frame (don’t know why you would do that though considering you put WAY more effort into the tower than the sky). You can also take the camera angle and view the tower at more of a top-down. While framing that shot if you leave just a small section of sky in the rendered view it provides a nice pop in comparison to the tower however, at that point the ground will be taking up most of the viewable space which, could make it also appear dead.
How can I find the subtitles ??
There are subtitles with the Udemy version but not with this GD site version as far as I know.
If you contact GameDev I believe they can enable you to use the Udemy version of the course if it is a problem for you no having them.
