Adjusting Camera > Ship distance: breaks controls

Hey Peeps, really enjoying setting up the timeline and my waves.
I just wanted to bring my ship a little closer to the camera, but when I make a little adjustment to the Z, the next time I play, the controls only pitch/yaw, they don’t control the ship. It must be something simple…

Any hints? Driving me bonkers…

Hi,

What do you mean by “they don’t control the ship”? Is the script attached to your ship? Do the values in the Inspector change when you move the ship while playing your game?

Maybe reset the component? Or check if one of the methods in your script that control movement aren’t running (check with printing to the console).

I have made a video of the behavior. I must be breaking the link between the camera and ship movement somehow.

Hi,

Please try to enable “Root motion” in the Animator component. Did that fix it?

If not, disable it and add Debug.Logs to your code to see if the relevant methods still get executed.
