It’s my first time assigning materials or rendering a scene. With some fiddling, I figured out how to how to use an image to achieve the wood grain. I haven’t yet learned how to create transparency, so I stuck a pin light under the “glass” lid to simulate light passing through from above.

Nice work. Looks great. You will learn how to texture with images in the chess scene section.
You can make transparent material by adjusting the Transmission value and the Transmission roughness in the material properties.
Transmission value:1 will make the material completely transparent.
But i think it only works in cycles render engine though(At least in my opinion).

Thank you! My glass turned out a bit cloudy. I can see I will need to play around with the settings a bit (or start over with a new material, I did pay with a lot of those sliders) to get a true transparent glass, and maybe get my GPU more involved in rendering as well.

Good try on the textures do not worry they get gradual coverage in the lectures.
