One useful thing to know is if you use generated coordinates and pick “box” from the projection drop-down in the image texture (default is flat) then it looks correct. I learnt that at Blender Conference 2018 :slight_smile:


This is because “flat” projects from top down, so faces which aren’t facing up or down look distorted.

Funny you should mention that… We cover it a little later on :wink:

Here’s my six objects with the cracked earth material - torus and cylinder doesn’t work well out of the box.

Testpicture: 32 seconds, 32 samples, cycles.
