I think this is a great topic to have included. Having been a photography enthusiast for years now, I love the use of DOF to define areas of focus in a picture. Even though the rabbit that I made was fairly crude, with the use of Depth of Field in the animation, it brought a sense of realism to the animation. You could almost see the trees branches swaying in a breeze and see the fur on the rabbit move by that breeze.
The only suggestion I would make to improve this lecture would be to add a section on outlining what the movie flow chart would look like i.e.
- How many seconds looking at the tree.
- How long a time to move to the bush.
- How much time to spend looking at the bush (should there be a zoom in close and out or not)
- How much time to move to the rabbit.
- How long to look at rabbit and should there be a zoom in or out on the rabbit.
Use of wide angle lens or telephoto lens for specific shots would also be helpful in knowing how to set up shots in a scene.
I had to set up an outline of what my shooting plan was for the scene in order to make sure I got all my keyframes right the first time (which I didn’t that is why I set up an outline and tried again [that worked GREAT]).
Thank you again for an excellent and well taught course!
