Just FYI, in Unreal 4.26.1 the level loads immediately with no need for the splash screen code. In fact using the splash screen code shown would prevent the level from displaying, at least on Oculus Quest 2 in Rift mode

Thanks Diego. So following the instructions would actually lead to a broken build?

It will build fine, but it will show a black screen, at least that’s the result that I got. I only tried once, just to check what happened if I added the screenshot code since I had already checked that it worked fine without, so maybe Unreal was being temperamental on that particular run, but I could only see a black screen with the screenshot code
