I noticed that once the node scene connection is changed the instanced node has to checked as it can have more than one connection. The downloaded code from the repository has all the instanced spike_bottoms with 1 valid and 1 no longer valid connection

Instead of calling functions from animation you could have used the animation_finished signal.

Yup! Totally viable solution. I just wanted to show folks how to call a function form an animation :smiley:
