A scene that is all too common

I did a few things that haven’t been taught yet.
I’ll list them for anyone curious.
The chairs are planes with solidify and subdivision surface modifiers on them.
The people turned out better than I thought they would.(They are just metaballs.)
I used a HDRI from polyhaven.com. I recommend you check it out, if you haven’t ever used it.
The phone and table have subsurf on them too.
Without modifiers:

With modifiers:

I used Cycles to render the scene.
This is what it looks like with Eevee:

All good techniques that quickly become standard use.
I didn’t know this right away, but a nice little shortcut is hitting ctrl-1 (or 2, 3, etc) in the viewport. This will apply a subsurface modifier on your mesh with the level you pressed.

Also I completely relate to your message, it is unfortunately too common.

Welcome to this site.
Take some time to look around and take part.

Fine first work and several new things discovered. Keep pushing through the course as much of this will get covered.

I wouldn’t call it my first work. I haven’t made much, but I have made a few things.
Thanks for the advice, the collabs look interesting. I might just try one after I fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge.
