Certainly has the dynamism of that image.
The difficulty of such poses as a starting point is not being able to have several angles, views, with the subject in exactly the same position. Hence most animals are done in ‘boring’ standing poses, A or T poses for humans, then an armature added to pose the model with afterwards.
You way is fine though if you can refer to the real thing as needed!
It may not be a great subject for the later hair systems though!

Beautiful. I intend to model my cat as well. She’ll take a pose because she spends hours just watching me work.
