A Dragon Guards its Altar

My dragon is complete, and thereby my first critter in Blender! Probably going to plan up another dragon of my own for a next practice-project, and see how much I can improve on a second go around.

Great dragon and a setting all your own, not just a rock.

I think I’m very much learning that lighting and composition should probably be something I fuss around with in depth sooner, rather than later. I don’t feel very confident in it, or my understanding of it. I’ll do some mussing about.

Here’s a relighting attempt.

Looks very nice with the new lighting

You’re using low light intensity. Like in a dungeon room etc … ( my feeling). The casted shadows should be softer. But lighting is a difficult part of Blender. It depends on the scaling of your object too! Is the object centimeters or meters …? where does the sun stand, is it morning sun, midday …

Just have fun!

I was trying to aim for something of a cave feeling, so maybe I at least a little bit accomplished that. I suspect it’s a topic I’ll have to take a good dive into at some point, and continue to experiment with as I go.
