I had some time to bond with Subsurfacing- an interesting feature indeed. It certainly does improve the colour:

Once I put hair on this fella and give him eyes, I may then modify it: give it glasses and a beard, and no hair on the top. Then I will have an updated Mr. Mctaggard!
Definitely an upgrade to the old man!
Reminds me of the old “Reboot” television series. I think it was sometime in season 1, at the beginning of the episode (if I remember correctly), all the sprites got an upgrade as part of the story plot. In reality, the development team did have an upgrade in software, hardware, and funds I think. So they weaved it into the episode.
