Hi. It’s the first time I participate. To be honest, your entries are a bit intimidating. Still, I did my best. I wanted to make a super heroine, similar to those of Justice League 90s-2000s cartoons. I couldn’t match the style, but I’m fine with the result anyway.
Welcome to the Blender Collab! Most of us are here just to practice and get better. I try to approach each subject with an eye to learn something new. It’s not about perfection (although we strive for that too), it’s just about improving. With that said, this is an excellent entry. Great job and I hope you continue to participate.
So cute! This has a lot of character. Nice job taking a real-life object and modeling it in 3D. It’s not easy to do.
We @BlenderCollab have a few days to vote. You can vote fast but also think slowly about design, colors, technique, difficulty, subject, realism, etc. Choose consciously and not on your entry.
The new subject week 17 “The mega city” has already started. The winner of this week’s “It’s all about character” challenge may select a subject for next week 18 and win a badge.
Thank you very much! I’ll try to keep participating.
mfortunato, congratulations on your atmospheric movie poster. The group of four is clearly visible, and I think the chosen shader matches the original well, which makes me appreciate this version more than the original.
- SweetOblivion - Very recognizable, nothing wrong with it. Perhaps the background should be a bit less prominent. Focus on the ball / girl, then the Pokemon, and finally the background.
- borohidruro - Great pose of a floating heroine (good catch). The background could be a bit more exciting. No idea if the Blender option still exists, but you could turn on ‘keep volume’ so that the hinge points (armature elbows, knees) become smaller.
- RayModula - An epic scene. And because it is so recognizable (help, eyes and sword), as a viewer you don’t need any extra information. The floor creates a restless image and could actually further reinforce the basic elements.
- Crisus - Reminds me of the character Bami from the Disney movie. It is well made. I think the presentation is too simple. Great as a product catalog. But on a beautiful glossy wooden floor with other toys, you get a completely different feel.
Note: I don’t want to offend anyone. I try to write down positive ideas and visions in my simple use of the English language. I am also sometimes more inspired by a particular subject or solution. I’m also learning from you!
Thanks for the advice (and hosting of the challenge), I’ll search for the ‘keep volume’ option you mentioned.
