2022 Collab: Week 2 “Desert” - CLOSED

My first attempt at using displacement. Not too sure what I am doing and how it is going to end :upside_down_face: There are waves in render view but not in the rendered image, some settings I forgot (or didn’t know) to adjust?

Its volumetric cloud. Just made big.

ok, i am done with this.
The dunes are really node based, every little change took minutes to preview.
I am not quite happy with the result, but the pareto principle is fulfilled. :grimacing:
Render Time: 10 minutes

But maybe, more sand color (darker).
looks like over burned whites.

I’m also having trouble with differences between render view and render with sand, let me know if you figured it out! :grinning:

It would take to long to even get it close to ok. Such big volumetric is just too expensive. Set that up in 5 min. Render time 40 min :slight_smile:

I know, I’m trying to get the fluid simulatuion dialed up and I already spent 2 nights computing. I cound’t get anything decent =(
