I love the updated version. Especially how creatively you used what you did previously in the course  Good job!

Great entries folks! This is definitely going to be a hard one to choose which I’m going to vote for. Hmmmm . . .

This time around I focused mostly on artistic style, not modeling. So I focused on color, lighting, shaders and composition. The modeling is pretty simple and I’ve used 2 models from sketchfab: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/antique-chair-5dfe7d704a1d4ad6be5f4a77fbb488d3 https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/rose-b7c1acfae8174a5998e6735fbd1cb4d8. I hope this is not against the rules  (If I find enough time I will replace those models with my own).

Surprisingly I had an idea for this as soon as FedPete created this topic. I even started with a few sketches (which I’ll not show as I’m really bad at drawing). It looks really simple, but I put quite a lot of time into it . It didn’t exactly come out as I have it in my head, but it’s quite close:

Getting the lighting right is what would have taken me the most time if I were to create something similar. It’s something that I personally really struggle with. At least I am aware of my limitations so I am able to work on pushing past that limitation.
I’m impressed with yours for sure.

I have/had the same idea. Wanted something simple to create. And emphasize realism. So references, Cycles, materials, my own textures, etc. My machine doesn’t like this. Crashes, unresponsive …
Still some hours to apply more details …

I know this is kind of a late entry, but I was working on this last month as practice and I just realized it would fit perfectly with the theme.

Late too. lol.

Took some time tidying up an old model, found all sorts of little bits and pieces to sort out. it is a copy of an original medieval chest. But made as though new as it once would have been. Omitting later added padlocking straps on the original.

Voting entries week 02 “Furniture”

We have a few days to vote. You can go for design, colors, technique, difficulty, subject, realism, etc. Choose consciously and not on your own entry.
And the next subject, week 03 “Things on the Road” is already started. The winner of this week “Furniture” challenge may select a subject for week 04.

Have fun, stay healthy.

I miss bevel here and there. Also, the rivets (nails?) are to equal (repetition), maybe rotate z-axis a bit.
Although I probable underestimate the craftsmanship of those days, I got the feeling it is too mechanical made. No imperfections, no sign of usage.
I know it is really hard to do and probable your entry is far from finished.
I like the tapestry, but also here I miss some depth.

Still a great piece of furniture! Lots of fun to go.
