So i followed the course (what i thought was) exactly but then when i put my 800x600 background image in, it was exactly half the game units his was(after i put it down to 50 and 3:4 my camera has to be 3 while his is 6). Now all my sprites are twice the size they should be for that background and im not quite sure what the best fix it.
If we’re working to an 800x600 resolution, and the background image is 800x600, shouldn’t you put the game units in as 100? I thought the units was 50 because the image was larger? or have I not followed correctly either?
It certainly feels like your sprites would render the correct size if you used 100 units not 50.
(note: I’ve only just watched this lesson and not progressed farther, yet. I’m asking for my own learning.)
Okay, just re-watched the lesson and I think I also misunderstood something!
He’s original images were 800x600 (I thought they were 1024x768 for some reason!?!). 800/16 = 50 world units wide. Had they actually been 1024 then /16 would have been 64 world units. So, 50 world units is the correct size.
Given both he’s and the OP’s images are both 800x600, all the setting should be the same, no? Why is his world units 3 instead of 6? Is his aspect ratio set wrong?
