Way Back Then (Project Boost)

Short story about lost toy, which tries to find it’s way back home
Peaceful adventure with less skill-dependent pain and rather with more engaging relax flow, kinda rocket-drift

Thinking about writing short gd-document to keep myself organized and not to fall into procrastination pit

Here’s my concept to catch game’s vibe in preproduction phase
It would be cool to get any thoughts about this

Nice work maybe some brighter colors it would make the simpler art stand out less and draw attention away from that, kind of like the Nintendo style of art of simpler assets bright colors.

Honestly, today I’d spent all day on tweaking brightness, colors, and searching for right art direction)
At first, I wanted to make old-school hand painted textures, but without pen tablet its hard to draw textures with a mouse

With bright colors things become messy, and the Rocket becomes hardly visible. So I tried to fade background colors and add a little bit details for human perception on front layer.

Thanks for hint to look at Nintendo games style. I’m gonna explore it for inspiration)
