I’ve made some VR capable archery prototypes in Unity, and I’m now making a switch to Unreal. I’ve taken both the Unreal / C++ course, and the Multiplayer course.
My high-level goals are:
- Create a cross-platform multiplayer VR game for Oculus Home and SteamVR, whilst components that can be re-used other titles.
- Some form of character or world persistence, so a back-end cloud-based infrastructure.
- Sell that product / service on Oculus Home and Steam.
Following the course should be relatively simple, I’ve done self-study throughout my entire career for both professional certifications, and postgraduate course with research dissertation in AR for Network Management and Security.
I have an Oculus Rift, and my wife does too, so we’re all good to test multi-player. I also have an Oculus Go, and would look at porting some functionality to that in the future.
I’m really looking forward to implementing systems from scratch, to bring my own spin on them based upon my experience in AR and VR research and development as well as my passion for Computer Security.
Enjoy, and feel free to reach out to me for chats.
