How I did mine.
- Start with default cube.
- Scale it, press S, Press Z to scale in Z axis only, move cursor up a bit and {Left-Click} to save scale.
- Press SHIFT+D to duplicate. Press {Left-Click}, then using arrow, move it up above cube.
- Delete two vertices on upper cube, then fill in the faces to create a wedge. Rotate wedge.
- Press SHIFT+D to duplicate, press {Left-Click} then use arrows to move below first cube. Rotate second cube.
- Select both wedges and resize both.
- Move wedges to edge of cube.
- Select all three and join them.
- Set 3D cursor to middle of lower edge, set origin to 3D Cursor and type in 0, 0, 0 for location to put bottom of periscope at 0, 0, 0
