Student: Lachiel : Progress

So trying to Apply what I have learned so far in the Complete Blender Course, last night I started a little side project based on the Modular Dungeon. Theming for a Cottage or Tavern style setting.

I ended the night after making some beams and wall tiles with blocking out a Fireplace prop.

This AM I tried using what I learned with the light house island and several props in the dungeon.. that is Sculpt then Decimate… Some but limited success. The lowest poly version still has nearly 2k faces. but it doesn’t look bad.

Base Mesh( box modeled ): 418 Faces
Sculpt: 323,674 Faces
Decimated to the point the stones start to lose definition: 6472 faces
Decimate till it looks more like stucco: 1998 faces

DAMN I still have a lot to learn  But I feel like I’m making Progress

Took one of the Dino Heads I made and added it to one of my low poly humans. Extrude out some cloths… and…. Oh and I saw the trick of using a gradient texture pallet so used that too…

I rigged him but my weights are Way off and i’m to tried now to mess with it.. will get him posed tomorrow.

Managed to get the rigging to work… had some inverted normal took me a while to figure out why it wasn’t working. Dumb me…

I do notice while posting this that all the teath are not being affected by the bone.. need to fix that. Now I want to figure out how to rig the hands and mouth.

Ok I managed to fix the weight paints.. face, teeth and head all now move correctly..

Next up going to rig up the Dinoguy.. Dinogal is working pretty good. … though I do need to get serious about her cloths LOL>.. The hair and bikini mail is a throwback joke Old-school D&D art

Reminds me of the animation series Dorohedoro - Wikipedia

I would split the chimney into two, three objects. So you can combined them, having more possibilities. (chimney, fire part and the horizontal plate).

Clever, I’ll do that, thanks

Took a Minute today to re-texture my low-poly-dinosaurs using the gradient Tanique I learned while making my Dinoguy and Dinogal.

The animal head makes me think you should make the ’udders’ further down the body like most animals rather than primates.

Wiki

Female humans are the only mammals that permanently develop breasts at puberty; all other mammals develop their mammary tissue during the latter period of pregnancy.

The stuff people make me look up!

So it is not a human?

If your talking about my Dino-girl? Well she and her Dinoguy are fantasy creatures so the rulebook is kind of out the window… she wouldn’t have hair ether.. The whole trying to make her a sexy bikini-mail Dino is sort of a Joke based on the fact that I put Dino Guy in Plate armor.. Just reminded me of the old school D&D art in a ridiculous way.

But yea.. Lizards wouldn’t have Mammal body parts

Rigged up my Dino #1 This is the Dino I build as part of the main class assignment. The other two are mods that were part of the extra materials assignments. I will rig up the other two dino’s a bit later when i get a bit better at rigging.

Now I need to get back to the class and learn some more :D…. I think the next section is teh UV section with the Airplane and town scene.

Little Update on my goblins this AM before I turn my ATTN to work.
Since I have 2 bodies I made two different versions of the face trying to make them not look like twins.

After work I will start detailing out the bodies… then use these two as bases to make a few more..
