This project was a bit longer than I first expected but was definitely a fun one. This is the scene I wanted to replicate: I first started on the star destroyer, getting the basic shape of it:
There is definitely some errors and inaccurate details, some of which I fixed, such as the size of the star destroyer, to which I want to thank my dad for pointing that out. Others I noticed but I let them slide. Once I finished the Star Destroyer I needed to get to work on the hammerhead. This took a lot less time and turned out pretty well:
Finally I duplicated the star destroyer, shrunk the hammerhead and put it in position, added some simple smoke and lighting, and ended up with a scene I am very happy with:
After a decent amount of work I am happy to call this one finished and move onto something else. I had a lot of fun with this project and am excited to take on others on my blender journey. Let me know what you think. Merry Christmas everyone!
This is an awesome project! If I could make one small suggestion, It would be only to cut off about half of the planet below so the bright blue doesn’t draw your eye so much from the epic star destroyers and maybe enlarge the star destroyers a bit, other than that… Very nice work, this scene inspires me to want to make something from star wars now!
