Went for a little different appearance with toon shaders (didn’t have the time replace the bases). Sound effects were made with SFXR which is a neat tool for generating oldschool sounds. Base HP set to 1 for demonstration purposes.
Things of note:
- enemies can walk on grass and the road
- interpolated enemy movement
- building is allowed only on grass, and only if an enemy isn’t currently occupying the spot
- enemies will constantly re-seek their path in case it’s blocked by another enemy or a turret, on a more complicated map even resulting in backtracking and queuing enemies
- rudimentary camera controls (right click to rotate, mouse wheel to move back/forward)
