[SOLVED] Sprite doesn't show on Lose Screen

I was nearly finished with the course, I’m tidying up the menu system and after that is finished I’ll be asking for help with some other things, however for the moment I’m unable to have sprites appear on my lose, win or start screen.

I know it’s animating as in play I can see it going through the different sprites as it animates, however I see nothing. I assume this might have something to do with how the text and canvas were origonally set up? Though I’ve got no idea what I’m missing. Here’s some images below:

Sprite:

Canvas:

Camera:

Note: Looking for solutions I have already messed around with the layers to see if anything changed, altered the camera’s position, placed it inside the Canvas on the hierarchy and I’ve completely lost for words…

Little challenging to tell from the screen shots, however, the sprite doesn’t appear to be in the UI layer… and has a sorting layer of “enemies”…

If you are happy to share the project via Dropbox / Google Drive I will happily take a look to see if there is anything I can spot…

Yeah I turned it into a UI layer as well but that still didn’t work. I don’t know what the difference is between the game scene and the other scenes as the animation does work on the game one, but not this one.

Here it is on Google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7nLveqCW7hXemlGT3lOcFJVR3c/view?usp=sharing

Hi Aron,

That appears to only be the C# project file, as opposed to the whole project?

That’s weird. Hmm…I’ll try to zip a copy

Here’s the whole thing zipped. Should be much easier to navigate and such, not tot mention download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7nLveqCW7hXRWpEQmVNbVFUVk0/view?usp=sharing

I hope to start focusing on building levels and evolving the game in a interesting form.

Edit: Also I’m curious what you might think of the alien ship I designed using Kenny’s sprite’s as inspiration for the design.

I shall grab it again now and have a look

I just chanaged the Render Mode of your UI Canvas to Screen Space - Camera and that has enabled your animated sprite to now be displayed;

You might want to move the sprite a bit

Regarding the ship - I like it, nice to implement your own graphics. Couple of suggestions… some shading/highlighting on it, and animation of the flames/engines at the back so they are not just two yellow/orange lines. You could add some other little animations too which would be descreet, but add a nice touch, perhaps something glimmering when the lasers fire for example…

Hope this all helps

Cheers @Rob once again for all the help, now when I get the chance I’m going to research how to make a pause button and menu, filling the end screen with enemy vessals as you dying means they win and also doing similar designs with the other scenes.

Again, thanks for all the big help. No idea where I’d be otherwise.

Oh, also need to add explosions too.

You are more than welcome Aron, no problem at all.

Sounds like you have some great ideas for the game, be sure to share your progress with us all

@Rob Certainly will! Just thinking about what steps to go next. I’m thinking of building the pause script.

Sounds like a good way to go, and, it should be fairly straight forward.

Happy birthday by the way  :cake: :balloon:

@Rob Yeah, I have seen one or two things that talk about the pause button and thanks  No idea what I might be getting. Things have been…tight on this end.
