I did my solidify different than the lecture and wondered if it makes a difference. I have the thickness set to 0.015 and the offset set to 1.000 and not the default -1.000. The thickness of the lampshade does the same as the lecture example as far as I can see. Is either way better than the other?
It’s like if it will fill the mesh inward or outward. It’s more visible when you mark Only Rim.
Thank you. Yes, I understand but I see no difference between these two settings:
Thickness: 0.015 Offset: 1.0000
AND
Thickness: -0.015 Offset: -1.0000
I just wondered if there is any real difference between the 2 settings shown above or if they indeed give the same end result.
Yeah. You’re right!
Same result in the end. The real diffence only comes when you change just the Offset Value, but then you can invert the thickness anyway…
