Simple Recessed Lights

I’m still running with simple stuff around the level, but I thought I’d have some fun with the ceiling and try to replicate recessed lights that are bright when you look up. I made these with a spotlight inside the cylinder, and then put a point light right at the tip so that it would glow, and then reduced attenuation radius to be as small as I could make it go.

Turns out there’s too much overlap between light and the shadow maps don’t really like there being too many light overlaps so I had to remove a few because they just weren’t on. I’d like to find a different solution to this in the future.

If you try this method of lighting, you’ll get a “Failed to allocate shadow map channel for stationary light due to overlap - light will fall back to dynamic shadows!” then the light won’t actually illuminate the spot. I could probably get it to work in a larger area depending on how the shadow map channels are laid out.
