Figured I would create a thread for people to post and showcase their favourite works since starting blender … Would love to see everyones favourite and best works! So anyone that would like to show all of us their favourite Blends since taking the course please showcase it here
Don’t be shy show us your stuff no matter what level you are at and get feedback from the community and some high fives for being the badass Blenderite you are
I will kick things off with one of my favourites a Harley i made awhile back but still have not finished fully like most of my models lol
No one? Come on guys don’t be shy lets see your awesome works! lets see all the cool things learning this awesome course has brought into existence
Okay, here is one of my medieval houses I have been working on just to fill up some space
The Bates House is still a Work in Progress, which I haven’t had a chance to work on in a few days.
Amhadinger : great work mate!!! did you do any particular tutorial to learn how to use the fluid simulation? that looks super cool! well done!
Morgaine: awesome house and work as usual
you sure have your texturing down! That is an awesome old colonial style house! really well done!! Hey there is a woman over in the Facebook group called carly newsholm i think it is …she also got into blender because she wanted to make items for SL like you …i told her to look you up here…did she ever find you?
@rszarka I started out with a tutorial, but branched out and added my own stuff… my first time using cycles other than the fluffy bunny section… I feel pretty confidant now with cycles…
@Morgaine_Christensen Great Work!

Thanks for the compliment! I am finally getting the hang (I think) of at least applying textures in Blender.; it is so different from all the years of working with textures in SL. I still haven’t got the Cycles Nodes part down yet though I am working on it
I had someone actually contact me in SL so it very well could be the woman from FB. She said she had been directed from the GameDev community. Whoever it was, she had an issue with her creation and I think we solved her issue, which was causing upload problems. Thanks for sending her my way. I was glad I was able to assist her.
@amhadinger…Thank you for your compliment at well! It’s nice to see how everyone is advancing! I have not played around with the Fluid simulation yet but looks rather cool!
After the fluffy bunny section i was desperate to make something of my own …im a big sci fi fan so went with a battle star galactica vape then a cylon raider…they turned out ok i guess for my knowledge at the time … i am just going back and revisiting a bunch of models from that era and finishing them up and or fixing it all …i had this thing at that time using these giant ngons for everything …what a mess to fix i had to rebuild half of them the right way hahah anyways just finished correcting those 2 old models …heres a couple of renders the cylon raider needs a higher sample rendering…lotsa fire flys…
.come on everyone post your works here …lets all share all our favourite stuff …i love seeing everyone else work and im pretty sure most that are into blender are the same and enjoy seeing everyones model …dont be shy post all your stuff here for us all to check out …its great to see what everyone is accomplishing since starting the course…we all don’t share enough!!
Morgaine that is probably her…was it a snowflake she needed help with?
Yes that was her! After we passed notecards back and forth with a few ideas what the problem might be, she remade her snowflake, removed the doubles and recalcuated her normals. Once this was done, she had no issues in uploading it. The SL Uploaded is rather finicky; you look at it the wrong way and it won’t work! LOL…am glad I could assist her.
Here’s the Master sword I made when I was on the chess section. I made this model from a version made by the youtuber Returacan from paper, and since I also made it out of paper, I understood the measurements and idea of it.
I made it more realistic by adding an edge and some other details, but I’m not sure yet how to add textures and get a good view of it for screenshots and stuff. The best views I could come up with are these angles in edit mode with lines select on.
The perspective view makes the screenshots look a little distorted. Should I use ortho?
You should be very proud. This is amazing!
It can still use some tweaking color-wise, but this is my most recent and my favorite. It’s the first time I actually tried to go complex with my architectural models and custom textures. Overall 14,226 verts which isn’t too bad imo
Nicely done!
If you are in need of textures, you might check out Textures.com. You can set-up a free account, which limits you to 15 textures in a 24 hour period and they are usually smaller sized than those of the professional. I been using some of their textures for years for various projects. Be sure to read the EULA and/or Terms of Service.
Keep up the great work!
wow! these are all really good, I just started using blender about 3 months ago, and started the Blender course about a week ago, I feel like I’m a long way off of posting any of my work here.
It is a really good course! I think you will like it. Just a bit of practice and your imagination and you will be amazed at what you can create! Good Luck and have fun with the course!
