You had fun, you’ve learned some things.
And yes, everything is time-consuming.
But practice more, learn the way of Blender (functions, tool, modifiers, etc.).
But with more knowledge, you do more difficult things. Time stays the same.
Some 3D artist work months on one project …

Yeah, you’re right. These were just basic tranformation tools. Maybe with a bit more knowledge and planning it won’t take much time.
