Section 2: lesson 25 Pivot Points Exercise

Here is my door! I moved the door to the right in edit mode so that its origin point would be on the left, then I selected the door handle and the door and rotated on the z axis.

Is there a better/more accurate way to move the point of origin? Is anyone is familiar with the motion tools plugin for after effects, there is panel the lets you select where in the bounding box you want to place the center point - is there anything like that for blender?
