I like the design with what you came up with. Looks good. The light at top seems disturbing But you will learn due course of time in the course.

“Design” is a very broad topic. Anything is involved, style, color, use, story, composition …
Your model is a good start. Job well done!
But here some ideas:
- Trees look the same. - Not much variation in size, color and tree type.
- Building details and tree size don’t fit - tree height is the same as the windows.
- Camera position is good. - First person view.
- High-lite of the tower is to bright in contrast with overall lighting…

Good start.
Suggestions as has been mentioned, generally think about the scales of things. Doors to trees to crenelations to a theoretical human that fits it all.

I have to agree with FedPete about the trees, though my first thought was just how short the trees are. FedPete’s mention of there not being much of a variety in size, also struck me.
No two trees are the same height, as they’re usually not planted the same exact day. Trees gain their height with age, so in a small forest, there will be trees of different heights.

You could, but it has nothing to do with “next time better”.
It’s your own creative input that counts.
If you want to create life like objects and scenes. Use references.
And above all, use your imagination.
